Executive Producer – Mathew Knight
Founder of MKM Studios and Park House is Mathew Knight. Mathew has created, produced, directed and edited prime time television programs in Australia and has shot and edited over a thousand corporate, fashion and commercial videos around the world. Mathew started his production company Mathew Knight Media in 2007 with a 22-minute documentary on the Resource Evaluation Group for mining company BHP Billiton. This lead to producing, directing, shooting and editing many more productions across Australia and the formation of Park House.
In 2011 he moved to New York and worked on videos for leading lifestyle brands from Victoria’s Secret, Armani Exchange, Johnston and Murphy, Smythson and Starwood Hotels to name a few. In 2015 Mathew created, produced, directed and edited his first one-hour television program for the Nine Network in Australia which followed the lives of 8 prominent fashion identities as they prepared for Western Australia’s biggest fashion week. The show was described by The Sunday Times Journalist Fleur Bainger as a “breath-holding, hand-wringing drama”.
Mathew now divides his time between Australia and New York. He is the current Executive Producer and Director of The Road to Miss Universe Australia for the Nine Network. Mathew also runs Park House and MKM Studios and volunteers as a marketing advisor to the Noongar Institute of Western Australia (NIWA), a Noongar run education organisation for young adults.
Fleur Bainger, Journalist,The Sunday Times:
“The breath-holding, hand-wringing drama captured by Perth filmmaker Mathew Knight’s cameras are far from the typically polished performances witnessed by the catwalk’s front row. And that’s exactly what makes his doco-meets-reality TV show, Behind the Runway, so captivating.”
Emma White, Director General: Government of Western Australia. Department for Child Protection and Family Support:
“Mathew always presents as a professional, personal and highly efficient extension of our team in the delivery of each project and has consistently worked to achieve the brief, on time and within budget. Mathew’s exceptional skills were pivotal to the development, delivery and success of a recent education and training film based around the Departments Signs of Safety practice framework. Mathew worked tirelessly with staff and external talent to create the training resource, which perfectly illustrates the departments work with Aboriginal families in a moving and thought provoking way.”
Robert Connor, BHP Team Leader and Video Project Supervisor:
“The Final Product that Mathew presented far exceeded our expectations. The level of professionalism and the personal effort that had gone into the production was immediately apparent. The task he was given was large, as were the expectations of the audience but he managed to successfully portray the REG, its people and the work they do in a manner that left all in all at the initial screening, lost for words.
Fiona Fischer, District Director. West Kimberley. Department of Communities. Western Australia:
“Of course I couldn’t wait and watched it straight away with tears in my eyes, it is truly beautiful and really highlights the realities of fostercare particularly in the Kimberley whereby carers are supporting a child and their family”
